WAYS TO KEEP YOUR BRAIN ALIVE IF YOU ARE 50, 60 AND ABOVE




The best way to keep your Brain stay smart, sharp and focused is to engage it or loose it. Make sure you are active in mentally challenging activities like the following:


  • Reading a book 
  • Lean new things like games
  • Visit a Zoo or Museum 
  • Attend lectures on diverse subjects 
  • Listen to radio instead of watching TV in a sedative position 
  • Do your shopping 
  • Sweep your house and around it 
  • If you are right handed try using your left hand
  • Close your eyes and try to identify foods by taste 
  • Exercise like walking and swimming. Physical activities increase blood flow to the heart
  • Eat healthy foods, bake or grill and not fry your foods 
  • Cook with healthy oils
  • Eat fruits and vegetables 
  • Eat Fish
  • Watch what you drink not more than a glass of wine by day
  • Keep your family, friends and wholesome new ones 
  • Stay calm, relax or meditate if you can
  • Get enough sleep, at least 8 hours a day
  • You need Memory Helpers, Write things down, use Calendars and Reminders
  • Forgetting things and names? Keep to your reminders. Write down where you keep things
