LEMON

Lemon fruit is used for culinary and non culinary purposes throughout the world, primarily for its juice, which has both culinary and cleaning uses. (ref. Wikipedia)

Lemon juice can be used as short-term preservatives on fruits like apples, bananas and pear (avocados), as these fruits have the tendency to turn brown after they have been sliced. Lemon juice and rind are used to make marmalade, lemon liqueur and as garnish for food and drinks. The zest, the grated outer rind of the fruit is used to add flavor to baked goods, puddings, rice, preparing  cooked meats, sea foods and other dishes.
The lemon leaves are used to make tea.
In Nigeria lemon leaves are boiled and the liquid consumed as fever reducer. A slice of lemon in your warm tea helps to soothe saw throat.
